A great mix of traditional wildlife painting with a contemporary twist. I used what I like to call a "Subtractive Method" when painting this Grizzly Bear by thinning down my oil paint and using it more as a stain than the traditional "impasto" style. This technique alows me to put color on and then manunipulate it with thinner, taking some of the colors off to reveal the white canvas below. giving it a wonderful glowing effect.
