Las Vegas Marshlands - Pleistocene Era
This canvas depicts the Las Vegas valley region during the last Ice Age of 15,000 years ago, when grasslands, marshes and spring mounds covered the valley. Now extinct mega fauna, such as the Columbian Mammoth and American Lion roamed the landscape in search of water and food. The climate was cooler then with summer desert temperatures reaching an average of around only 85 - 90 F.

This painting of the Ice Age Las Vegas valley was on exhibit at the Natural History Museum, Las Vegas, Nevada from 2011 - 2015 as well as the Nevada State Museum at the Springs Preserve, Las Vegas, Nevada 2007 - 2011.
