The Pink Ladies

These three Roseate Spoonbills were photographed in my backyard lake! I was so elated to see them, as they are not normally sighted in my neighborhood and they are my favorite water birds! They are normally loners, so three are highly unusual. I was feeling emotionally drained so the sight of them was a spiritual experience.

Painted on whiteboard…the tree textures were applied as multi colored swashes of inks to the whiteboard followed by the masking out of the tree shapes. Another darker wash was applied on top. The tape is then removed to expose a beautiful multi colored texture. The lake water was created with a paper towel accented with splashes of alcohol. Grassy weeds were applied with alcohol ink markers.
