Watercolor on Arches, cold press. I'm always challenging myself to paint difficult subjects like these zebras. This piece came about after watching a nature documentary about the zebras biology and habitats. I start with a pencil drawing then I'll usually paint from top to bottom, left to right and in successive washes.
